Rebuilding Hope

Welcome Home, Ms. Gail!

Ms. Gail Phillyaw is a loving mother and grandmother, and her home is a place of comfort to family and friends alike. Ms. Gail and her family planned to ride out the storm at their home, but at the request of her son they decided to evacuate at 4:00am the morning that Hurricane Michael hit. When Ms. Gail returned to her home a few weeks later, she was devastated to find significant roof damage. Hope Panhandle was introduced to Ms. Gail and partnered with her to rebuild her home, with the help of many wonderful volunteers and supporters.

Hope Panhandle is excited to announce that Ms. Gail Phillyaw has moved back as of May 24th. Bringing Ms. Gail home would not have been possible without the kindness and dedication of our supporters, AmeriCorps members, staff and volunteers from all around the country. The Panhandle has a long rebuilding process ahead, but we are grateful to celebrate with each family who is able to return home. We give our sincere thanks to each person who is involved with this effort.
